The site of an old depleted gas well, this area is owned by Energy Corporation of America (ECA). Several months ago, the ECA was considering disposing of hundreds of gallons of toxic wastewater here. This site is only 500 feet from Deckers Creek. Luckily, hundreds of devoted volunteers from Friends of Deckers Creek and FODC Youth Advisory Board gathered signatures, and the ECA decided not to dispose of the waste here.
